Concept:

Last year Mr M & One87 launched the first edition of a brand new Dubstep concept called “Daily Dubstep”. This event took place in the amazing main concert-hall of the first class venue ‘Vooruit’ in Ghent.
It was an instant success and an amazing experience: a full house from the first go with loads of Dubstep fans having the night of their life.

It was more than obvious you were ready for more, as were we, and the second edition was one of the highlights in the history of Belgian Dubstep fests!

There’s no stopping us now !

This edition several international dubstep artists of the highest calibre will be representing, such as Dubstep leaders ‘Digital Mystikz’ and ‘N Type’. So prepare for the best Dubstep has to offer for the moment and don’t forget that all our guests are widely accepted as the instigators and leading forces of Dubstep!

Digital Mystikz was discovered early on by the legendary John Peel and are responsible for the groundbreaking DMZ record label and club-nights as well as many famous productions. Digital Mystikz will be accompanied by their regular MC and label-partner Sgt. Pokes with whom they have set dance-floors on Dour and Sonar, amongst many, many others, on fire!

They will share the stage with N Type who has been proclaimed Best Dubstep DJ several years in a row. Next to running his own label Wheel and Deal Recordings, he’s also co-owner of Sin City Recordings with DJ Hatcha and has releases out on Dubpolice, Terrain Records and Tempa. And then we haven’t even talked about his super popular radio-show on Rinse FM.

And also Hatcha, N-Types production and label partner will be present behind the decks of Daily Dubstep. He is generally known as the Godfather of Dubstep .. need we say anymore ...

Add to that the energy and power of SP:MC as well as Belgian talents Cal & Sikey and Mate & Fudge and you know, this will be a wicked party again!

So make damn sure you don’t miss it … it just might go down, again, as one of the best Dubstep parties Belgium has ever known ...

Artists:
Digital Mystikz & Sgt Pokes ( DMZ, UK )
Digital Mystikz, comprised of DJ/producers Coki and Mala, are at the forefront of London's dubstep sound, leading the way with their own unique brand of dubbed out London sounds. Both derived of jungle, dub reggae and garage yet brand new, the sound had emerged from London and spread a love of sub bass, skankin riddims and mystical melodies across the world.

Along with Loefah and Sgt Pokes, they operate the DMZ record label and host the influential bimonthly nightclub DMZ, held at the Mass club complex in Brixton, London. Legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, was an early supporter of Digital Mystikz, eventually putting them in his annual 2004 Top 50 list at #29.

They are among the scene's most famous producers. Their song "Anti War Dub" appeared in the 2006 film "Children of Men," although it wasn't included in the soundtrack. In the summer of 2008, Digital Mystikz was chosen to headline the night portion of the Sónar Festival in Barcelona and Dour festival. Nowadays, they travel the world!

Sgt Pokes is a well known dubstep mc from South London. He is not only the voice off but also an intrinsic part of the DMZ collective as well as being affiliated to numerous other dubstep labels and squads.

N Type ( Wheel and Deal Records, Tempa, Rinse.FM, UK )
The award-winning Dubstep DJ / producer and label owner N-Type is without doubt one of the heavyweights in the scene. Voted Best Dubstep DJ several years in a row, he has releases out on labels such as Tempa, 3.5 Records and his own Terrain imprint. You can always expect the freshest dub-plates, biggest beats, bass-lines and anthems in an N-Type set.

N-Type began his career presenting an underground chart show on Delight FM with DJ Walsh. As time went by Walsh left the station and N-Type later took on a weekend chart show as he established a solo career. He quickly established himself as the main Dubstep DJ/producer on Delight FM and did regular guest shows on many other London pirate stations and internet stations. His mix compilations were rinsed on radio, which helped him gain recognition and bookings all over England and abroad. His shows have always concentrated on good vibes and giving the best music and talent the recognition they deserve.

He is always up to date with a wide selection of dubs from the finest producers. Eventually Delight fm closed down due to unexplained circumstances and N-Type moved on to Rinse Fm. Since then he has gained international recognition and currently presents a popular show on http://www.Rinse.fm. He expanded the show with more interviews, guest mixes and collaborations pushing artists and their music to the fullest.

In 2005 he focused his attention on production with his first sell out Track "Square off" hitting record shops on Southside Dubstars. He then signed tracks to other labels such as Dubpolice, Tempa and 3.5 Records and his own label Terrain Records.

His tunes have been gaining support from many Dj’s and radio stations with regular airplay on Rinse Fm, BBC Radio 1’s Breezeblock thanks to Mary Anne Hobbs and the Dubstep show on Kiss 100FM thanks to DJ Hatcha. N-Type is currently a resident at FWD>> & Dubpolice and has played at the mighty DMZ.

In 2007 N-Type was then given the opportunity by Ammuntion and Tempa to mix the 5th installment of Dubstep Allstars 5. The mix was released in the summer and took the critics by storm! This was a sure sign of the growth of the music and the respect it was getting.

More recently he started a new label Wheel and Deal Records with releases from DJ Kutz, Matt U, Youngsta, … Next to that he runs Sin City Records with DJ Hatcha.

Back to line up

Hatcha ( Big Apple Records, Sin City, UK )
Hatcha is Croydon's answer to Moodyman and has over 18 years of DJ experience under his belt. Following a job as A&R man and shop hand at the legendary Big Appple Records, Hatcha became the first main DJ behind the now worldwide recognised Dubstep genre. He also mixed the very first "Dubstep Allstars" compilation (and volume 4 alongside Youngsta), making his name as the Godfather of Dubstep.

Going on to DJ all over the world and release on some of the genres leading labels, Hatcha holds his weekly radio show on Kiss FM alongside Crazy D and was the first DJ to host a commercial radio show based solely around Dubstep.

With 2010 promising to be even more successful with the launch of Hatcha's new Sin City label and events alongside fellow Dubstep legend N Type, a host of big gigs already confirmed, as well as remixes, original productions and some big collaborations, Hatcha has and will continue to firmly cement his name in music history.

Back to line up

SP:MC ( Club Autonomic, UK )
Within the last 6 years, SP:MC has established himself as one of the busiest and most innovative MCs in both drum & bass and dubstep. As well working closely with front-runners DJ Friction, D-Bridge, Breakage and Youngsta, he holds residencies at leading nights including Shogun Audio, A Bunch of Cuts and Club Autonomic.
His passion for the music undoubtedly comes through on the mic. With a unique flow and the confidence to leave space for the beats to breathe, it’s clear that SP is an MC who only compliments and never competes with the DJ.

With a deep understanding of the music he’s so passionate about, SP has proved himself to be a talented producer in his own right. Recent releases on Tempa (alongside Joker D) and Shogun LTD (with Jubei and Dakuan as Code3) have demonstrated both quality and diversity, whatever the tempo. With another 12" on Tempa plus a Code3 release on D-Bridge's Exit Records, 2009 is yet another big year.

Back to line up

Cal & Sikey ( Baselab Sound, StuBru )
Baselab Sound is a new project by DJ's Cal (Wouter Van der Sanden) and Sikey (Pieter Gulinck). They met in the early 2000s sharing a love for UK urban music. With Sikey being involved in promoting Drum ‘n’ Bass events (Orka) together with DJ's Easy and Woodcarver, Cal's interest in DJ'ing gradually became apparent. It wasn't long before he started buying records and focusing on Drum ‘n’ Bass specifically.

Due to the emergence of the dubstep movement around 2006, both Cal & Sikey started to pick up on these new and mystical vibes as they emerged on the mainland. Together with their peers Kastor & Dice, Mate and BunZero, they were among the first to champion the dubstep sound all over Belgium. Thanks to their radioshow "Babylon Skank System" on the renowned FM Brussel radiostation, they sparked the interest of Studio Brussel in 2008, rallying them to host a weekly hour of dubstep on Belgium's national radio.

With the dubstep sound branching off in many interesting directions and slowly shedding its "niche" stigma, both Cal and Sikey realized that the new movement was going places and crossing over into very diverse musical territory. Being true lovers of dance music regardless of it's genre they decided to build a playground that would encompass all of their musical tastes, this led to the birth of Baselab sound: a refreshing mashup of funky, house, techno, dubstep, hardcore and Drum ‘n’ Bass. With their own productions in the pipeline, Baselab Sound aims to bring the best of the UK urban underground and well beyond.

Mate & Fudge ( After 12 )
Hiphop, Reggae and Ragga got DJ Fudge moving on the dance-floor as well as acid and techno. It is at the old Democrazy club he first heard a jungle set played by Bob Miller alongside MC Skreen (1996). The jungle virus infected him immediately. At university he met Mikis, a geezer with the same musical interests. They started spinning together and formed the “Isocteur” collective. The “Isocteur” collective rocked lots of dance-floors and dropped numerous parties, mostly at La Gare (near Kortrijk) but also in Ghent( Decadance, Paradox…).
At a party in Leuven Fudge bumped into Goony, a guy he knew from K-town and who was spinning there with DJ Mate. Together with MC Sane they came and conquered and decided to form the Warriorz Crew. Under that name they spun together or alone and organized parties mostly in Kortrijk and Ghent.

DJ Mate took his first DJ steps around ‘90-’91 when he first came in contact with jungle.
He played as one of Belgium’s 1st jungle DJ’s at the legendary Democrazy jungle nights in ‘95 alongside the No U Turn crew Ed Rush & Nico. Later he played with other UK Jungle DJs like Dylan, Zinc, Trace, Kemistry and Storm,… DJ Mate left the jungle scene for awhile and got more and more into the reggae-ragga scene next 2 his brothers TLP ‘n’ Dors. He played with the infamous T ‘n’ D Soundsystem several times.

You also know him from the legendary QPC parties in Catacombes in Roeselare, Boom Boom Room in Antwerp, wicked parties in Leuven at Silo and Rumba, in Ghent: Democrazy, resident at Afterbounce in Decadance, 10 Days Off festival…and on a few other festivals. Now DJ Mate found a new genre called dubstep and he really got the virus, all his time goes to producing and spinning dubstep. He also has a radio show called “After 12″ every Friday on Urgent.fm (Ghent area 105.3 Fm) together with Goony, Black Francis and Fudge.
